TradeBound Privacy Policy
DRAFT — ATTORNEY REVIEW PENDING · NOT YET IN EFFECTLast updated: [DATE]
This policy explains what data TradeBound ([LLC NAME], d/b/a TradeBound) collects, what we deliberately do not collect, and how what we do collect is used. It applies to the TradeBound desktop software, tradeboundtrading.com, and our community services.
The short version
Enforcement is local. Learning is synced — by you, on purpose. The TradeBound desktop app reads your trading platform's local fill log and runs its guards, recording, and reviews on your own PC; the guard service never depends on a connection. When you turn on TradeBound Cloud sync, the app uploads the review data you choose — trade records, rule events, check-ins, reviews, grades, metrics, and (with clip storage) your trade clips — to our servers so you can review from your phone, keep a backup, join boardrooms, and see your numbers against an anonymized cohort. We never ask for broker API keys or account credentials, we never sell your data, and we never share it with brokers.
What stays on your device
Everything the app produces lives on your PC first: fill-log data and derived stats, session recordings and clips, your rules and Strict Lock settings, reviews, journal, grades, and analytics. Cloud sync is off until you enable it. Deleting the app's data folder [PATH] removes local data, and your trade history exports to CSV at any time.
What TradeBound Cloud stores when sync is on
- Trade records and rule events: round trips, P&L per trade, counts, breaches, guard events, Strict Lock state history.
- Behavioral data: pre-trading check-ins (sleep, clarity, emotion, tier choice), post-trade reviews, End-Session Review answers, day grades, journal entries and takeaways.
- Clips and screenshots (if clip storage is enabled): the per-trade video clips and chart screenshots you sync, within your plan's storage allowance.
- Boardroom data: your discipline score, streaks, and challenge participation shared with the boardrooms you join — never your P&L or clips unless you share a clip yourself.
How we use it: to show you your own data across devices; to run boardrooms and leaderboards (process metrics only); to build aggregated, anonymized cohort benchmarks and pattern research (e.g., "traders who skipped the morning check-in broke a rule X% more often") — individual data is never published or identifiable in these; and to improve the product. [ATTORNEY: confirm the data-license language in the ToS covers aggregated/anonymized research use, and whether clip storage tiers need separate terms.]
What we collect
Account data. Name or handle, email address, and license/membership status — needed to authenticate your license and contact you about your subscription.
Payment data. Payments are processed by our payment/community platform provider [PROVIDER]. We never see or store full card numbers. We receive confirmation of payment status and subscription tier.
License checks. The app periodically confirms your license is active. A license check includes your license key, app version, and a device identifier — not your screen data. [CONFIRM exact fields at implementation.]
Crash reports. If the app crashes, a diagnostic report (error details, app version, OS version, hardware basics) is sent to our crash-reporting provider [Sentry] so we can fix bugs. Crash reports are scrubbed of trading data (fills, P&L, symbols, recordings). [CONFIRM scrubbing behavior at implementation.]
Optional usage statistics. If you opt in, we collect anonymous feature-usage counts (e.g., "review used this week") to guide development. This is off by default, contains no trading data, and can be turned off anytime in settings.
Website basics. Standard server logs (IP, browser, pages viewed) and, if you join the waitlist or email us, the info you send.
What we never collect
Broker credentials, API keys, or account numbers; keystrokes; contact lists; anything from other apps on your PC; and — with cloud sync off — none of your trading data at all. With sync on, we store only what the section above lists, and never anything you haven't enabled.
Retention for cloud data
Synced data is kept while your account is active. After cancellation it remains available to export for [30] days, then is deleted from active systems (backups roll off within [90] days). Aggregated, anonymized statistics already derived from it are not reversible to you and are retained.
How we use data
To provide and secure the Services, process subscriptions, fix bugs, send service emails (receipts, license, launch/update announcements), and — only with separate consent — marketing emails, which always include an unsubscribe link.
Who we share with
Service providers only, and only what they need: payment/community platform [PROVIDER], crash reporting [Sentry], email [Zoho], and hosting/DNS [Cloudflare/Namecheap]. We do not sell or rent personal data. We may disclose data if required by law, or as part of a business transfer (in which case this policy continues to apply).
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and for [24] months after, then deleted or anonymized. Crash reports are retained per provider defaults [~90 days]. You can request deletion sooner (below).
Your choices and rights
Email support@tradeboundtrading.com to access, correct, or delete your account data, or to opt out of marketing. Depending on where you live (e.g., California, EU/UK), you may have additional statutory rights — we honor verified requests consistent with applicable law. [ATTORNEY: confirm whether CCPA/GDPR sections are needed at launch given size thresholds and audience; add cookie-consent handling if analytics are added to the website.]
Children
The Services are for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
We'll post updates here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app. The current version lives at [URL]/privacy.
